A recent survey of 3,000 females by Austin Reed asked respondents to cite examples of gentlemanly behaviour in the modern age.

It showed that most women would prefer their man to take out the rubbish than pay for dinner.

So lads – get off the couch and lift those bin bags.

That said, 1 in 20 women surveyed said they would like their partner to wear a bowler hat, so who knows what to believe…

We ran out of mini skips for hire last week – everyone who was carrying out work on their properties had booked them all out for the bank holiday weekend. Mini skips, despite their name, can hold a considerable amount of rubbish – between 2 tonnes of muck and around one tonne of mixed waste. They’re really handy for domestic jobs where small scale jobs are concerned.

A mini skip is small. It’s about 4 feet long and 3 foot wide and 2.5 feet high.
