If you live in Wiltshire, now might be a good time for you to compare skip hire prices.

It appears that many people in the county would like to see a deeper dialogue with the local council over waste disposal matters.

A high proportion of residents, according to the Wiltshire Times, favour kerbside collections and recycling initiatives.

Why nationwide skip hire is a winner

Like universal suffrage and universal healthcare, it appears that nationwide skip hire is an inalienable right Britons can’t do without.

Just look at the clamour for skips in Stoke-on-Trent, judging by a recent report in This Is Staffordshire.

It highlighted how residents are being given the opportunity to get rid of unwanted rubbish in a bid to promote environmental awareness and a feel-good atmosphere.

Local citizen Teresa Brassington explained how the efforts of the Safer City Partnership have meant she’s been able to clear out her old skirting boards.

She was quoted as saying: “It’s a good idea for them to come and collect it because it stops houses and gardens from getting overrun with rubbish.”

How skips for hire can make bonfire night ‘as safe as houses’

In the run-up to the annual Bonfire Night festivities on November 5th, how can you ensure the maximum possible safety in your neighbourhood?

Those seeking skips for hire might want to get their orders in early, giving plenty of time to organise a hassle-free event.

Indeed, councils across the UK are asking residents to avoid passing unwanted items onto youths looking to set fires.

Instead, many towns are distributing community skips that can be filled with piles of rubbish.

This way, revellers can sit back and enjoy the extravaganza in style this year.

Skip hire in Shrewsbury could be a bright idea

Now could be a good idea to research your options for skip hire in Shrewsbury, and the surrounding county.

Shropshire Council has been the recipient of a £3 million kitty for improvements in areas such as recycling.

Called the Market Towns Revitalisation Programme, it includes a potential £400,000 grant for Ludlow, the Shropshire Star reports.

It quoted Veronica Calderbank, clerk for Ludlow Town Council, as saying that the authorities are keen to identify “land and premises to put up a skip for cardboard recycling”.

With such a groundswell of local enthusiasm for responsible waste management, those who hire skips in the county could well be on to a winner.

The good, bad and ugly ways to hire a skip

Luxembourg – famous for being small, landlocked and wealthy – can now add skips to its repertoire.

Many of its citizens are apparently keen to hire a skip in the weeks ahead, due to the emergence of fly-tipping problems.

And check this out – the miraculous appearance of a skip in the town of Hellange.

It was found on a roadside and was covered in black bin bags, paint pots and wood, News352 reports.

Now, it seems locals are keen to turn the situation around and put responsible waste disposal first.

Good on ‘em.

Why French citizens might be looking to rent a skip

Our friends across the channel might be keen to rent a skip in the days ahead.

Piles of uncollected rubbish are building in French towns and cities, following protests and strikes about plans to increase the minimum and full retirement age.

Refuse workers in locations such as Marseille (below) have taken action to show their displease at the proposals.

Cities from Paris to Lyon have drawn 3.5 million people onto the streets, according to the country’s unions.

Will skips play a crucial role in the eventual clean-up job?
