Mmmm…skips
Apparently, these guys love skips so much that they opened a restaurant in its honour.
Or so it would seem.
The eatery recently closed its doors after 62 years of service.
The Diner Hotline Weblog quoted resident Rusty Simpson as saying – somewhat bizarrely – “This place is like a bible for a lot of people”.
Located in the amusingly named Chelmsford, Massachusetts, it bears about as much relation to Chelmsford, Essex, as Skips Restaurant does to rubbish skips.
However, we live in hope that an authentic skip-themed diner will one day open its doors.

High skip price in France leads to horse-drawn cart innovation
You might not believe it, but horse-drawn carts are helping many French towns with rubbish collection duties.
Officials in locations such as Perpignan have compared the typical skip price with the cost of hiring equines.
What did they find out?
Naturally, it was determined that waste collection should be carried out by horses.
Jean Baptiste, the mayor of Peyrestortes, told the Guardian that the town’s medieval street layout made it difficult to bring out vehicles and skips.
Roads would often be blocked off, much to the chagrin of irate neigh-bours.
Mr Baptiste extolled the virtues of the approach, explaining: “The exhaust smells have gone, the noise has gone, and instead we have the clip-clop of horses’ hooves.”

Skip hire in Shrewsbury could be a bright idea
Now could be a good idea to research your options for skip hire in Shrewsbury, and the surrounding county.
Shropshire Council has been the recipient of a £3 million kitty for improvements in areas such as recycling.
Called the Market Towns Revitalisation Programme, it includes a potential £400,000 grant for Ludlow, the Shropshire Star reports.
It quoted Veronica Calderbank, clerk for Ludlow Town Council, as saying that the authorities are keen to identify “land and premises to put up a skip for cardboard recycling”.
With such a groundswell of local enthusiasm for responsible waste management, those who hire skips in the county could well be on to a winner.
