SOS! HELP PADDY HELP THE RAIN FOREST
A call to ANYONE that enjoys The Skip or Topskips to help Paddy-Jo Malpas make a difference to the eco-system in Borneo.
The youngest (and some say friendliest) member of our crew is off on a charitable adventure to Borneo in February – and she needs to raise £3000 to make it happen (don’t stop reading – she needs your dough!)
Paddy-Jo Malpas is 18 years old and about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime helping impoverished tribes-people build a sustainable eco-housing project in the beleaguered lungs of the Earth – the rain forests of Borneo in South East Asia.

Some of the funniest stories in The Skip have been penned by our little sister Paddy, and she’s a favourite with Topskips customers on the phone.
All you’ve got to do to help is make a donation – and here’s the REALLY good news – it’s TAX DEDUCTIBLE!!
1. Send a cheque for as much as you can afford (or think she’s worth – don’t make it a small cheque, she’ll cry) made payable to: “OPERATION RALEIGH” and send it to Paddy’s Raleigh Mission, The Skip, Metropolitan House, Station Road, Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, SK8 7GA NOW
2. Make a donation via Paddy’s blog: www.paddy-jo.blogspot.com. You can keep up date on the progress Paddy is making.
Paddy has spent 18 years on this planet coping with the fact that she has the name of an IRISH MAN, even though she’s a lovely young Mancunian woman (with Irish roots, of course – her parents have an acute sense of humour).
Unlike most 18-year olds out there sniffing glue and scaring old ladies with their hoodies, Paddy is actually going out there to do something with her life, something that might actually make a difference.
Now, my begging rant is over, here’s Paddy being serious about the whole thing: “Operation Raleigh is a charity dedicated to saving the environment by launching different projects in different places throughout the world.
“The particular project that I plan on going on is set in Borneo and it involves, among other things, setting up housing for villagers in the rainforest, making records on the local fish populations and also building safe passages up Mount Kinabalu – Malaysia’s highest peak.
“However, before I can do any of this, I need to raise £3000 to donate to Raleigh International as a charity and I was hoping that the businesses who read The Skip and maybe even Topskips customers may be able to help me achieve this.”
“If you want to know more about Operation Raleigh International, check out their website at: www.raleighinternational.org.”
Thanks Paddy, and thanks to anyone that can help her out.
