Got a skip hire question? TopSkips has skip hire answers:
Q: We need a skip, it can go on our drive and we would need to know the max width of lorry.
A: Your skip will usually be delivered by a 17 tonne lorry; the maximum size is approximately 9ft wide by 22ft long. The skip will then be lowered from the back of the lorry. If your drive is not wide enough for the lorry to back into, you will need to consider the road as an option (permit required of course).
When hiring a skip, you should consider not just the space around your property but also the local road network. You should ensure there is a safe route for your skip to travel, taking into account issues such as weak and low bridges.
On the exciting day that your skip arrives, it's best to keep the immediate area clear of obstacles such as parked vehicles, so be extra nice to your neighbours; you may need to get them out of bed to move their cars!
We pride ourselves on being able to deliver our skips to you, whatever your location and you can do your bit to make sure your hire experience is completely hassle free by preparing your site for the arrival of your skip.
