Skip Hire London: Wait and Loads

Councils: you either love ‘em or hate ‘em. Skip hire London is getting trickier, now borough councils have decided to put another spanner in the works by now needing permission before a wait and load service is carried out.

A wait and load service is when there is no where to place the skip, and not enough time to apply for a permit. We pull up with the skip and help the customer fill the skip with the waste that they have acquired. The service is normally half and hour and we drive off. However, now skip hire London councils are now saying that they demand that permission should be sought before any such service takes place.

Why?

Is there ever a good reason why with councils?

Health and Safety in the Topskips Office

We don’t do things by halves at Topskips.com, skip hire, roro hire, site waste management plans…health and safety is also a big priority. That’s why Matt in the office takes it upon himself to make sure he’s well covered if a stray lever arch file falls on his head, or a leaky biro bursts on his clothes…

Skip Hire Birmingham

We were delivering a skip hire Birmingham job to a shoe shop near the Bullring Shopping Centre last week. We came to pick it up yesterday to find out that the skip was pretty much emptied. We made a few calls to check if they were finished with the skip – and they had. But they had filled the skip with old stock that had been taken by passers by, leaving a few old cardboard boxes and little else!!!

Skip Hire Manchester

We hired out a skip to a customer who was after skip hire Manchester, who asked for it to be placed in his front garden as he was doing some groundwork on the front yard. So far, so simple.

We then got a call from a neighbour saying the whole skip full of garden waste was up in flames. Fire engines were called and the fire was doused, but all was left was a blackened shell-like, warped skip; a shadow of its former self and pretty much useless.

The client admitted full liability (we had told him no fires were to be held in the skip) and he paid the costs, but it’s a good lesson. However much a good idea setting fire to the waste in a skip may seem, it’s not allowed. Skips aren’t fireproof, and the chances of setting fore to something dangerous is high.

Skip Hire Derbyshire

Check out this video of a skip hire Derbyshire wagon – not too sure whether that load is completely safe – two cars in a ten yard skip…let’s just hope who was ever shooting this clip kept a distance behind the back of the truck.
