The new recycling machine only available in America enables a person to choose their particular mobile handset from the huge list allowing the customer to then put their old handset into the phone recycling machine which then pays out it’s value there and then. The recycling machine will also take old MP3 players, mini disc and CD players.

The US company say that the machine will help towards the larger global problem of recycling this type of technology which becomes obsolete very quickly in the fast-paced home technology market.

The new service, currently operated by big company Dataserv, is currently available to anyone in the US but was only offered to Europe recently.

A spokesman for Apple said “Whether it’s an iPhone, iPad, Mac or PC computer, working or not, we’ll take it and determine if it qualifies for reuse and has a monetary value. If it does, the amount will be credited directly into your bank account. If it doesn’t, you can recycle it responsibly through one of our free recycling programmes,”

Once the item looking to be recycled has been valued it can be sent in for a tidy profit and even items with no value can be sent in for free!

This doesn’t mean that this company will take all your waste however when looking to get rid of your old T.V in your skip or using skips and skip hire in general to get rid of things like your fridge-freezer or computer screen there may now be another option. It may also change what skip size you’ll need thus reducing the cost of skip hire.
