Skip prices – who do you trust?
Continuing from yesterday’s post, my advice would be to steer clear of people advertising ‘cheapest skip prices ever!’. These more often or not may charge a rock bottom amount, but the experience may well leave you wondering if you’d paid an extra £20 or so, then the job may have been carried out with more finesse, less stress and done exactly how YOU wanted it to.
When choosing your skip hire company, go for the one who impresses you the most, who is realistic with what they can do, who will go the extra mile and who have all the right certifications.
Remember, if your waste is flytipped by a dodgy skip driver or a rogue trader, then you are the one who is fined, and this can be in the thousands of pounds, not to mention a rise in council tax and a possible court appearance.

Skip hire costs nationwide – is there such a thing as cheap skip hire?
We get lots of calls asking why skip hire prices more in some areas and less in others. There are a lot of reasons for this:
Transport costs – If you live in the middle of nowhere, it will cost you more than if you live in a bustling metropolis, because the depot will more often than not be situated near or in a city or town.
Landfill tax – Every April, the government levy a tax on landfill costs. Over the past few years, we’ve seen tax rises of up to 33%. This is part of a government initiative to promote recycling.
Wages – for obvious reasons!
Of course, there’s insurance costs, the hire of equipment to sort waste, the cost of the land to store waste, costs of skips. we could go on….but we think you get the picture.
Always mistrust ads that claim ‘cheap skip hire’ … we’ll explain why tomorrow!

“I need to hire a skip for a bathroom rip-out”
…One of our most common requests from customers on the phone.
You’re throwing your old bathroom away and need a skip outside your house. But what skip size and how long can you have it for?
Last year I had a brand new bathroom put in and from experience I can tell you that a 4 cubic yard midiskip is the skip for throwing away bathroom fittings.
And because we know that plumbers like to take their time, you can have that skip for up to 3 weeks – for no extra charge!
Ring one of the team at Topskips on 0844 60 77 10 or book online 24/7.

Skip Hire In London
Just a reminder that we cover the whole of London from Cockfosters to Tooting and from Acton to Walthamstowe.
In fact skip hire in London is our busiest and most popular bit of the UK for skip hire, whether it’s for domestic or trade skip hire.
One thing that crops up in London more than anywhere else is the need for skip permits. With it being the capital city, and the way the city has been built, driveways on domestic properties are not as common, so this increases the need for to obtain a skip permit.
Give Topskips a call if you have any questions on skip hire or skip permits in London on 0844 560 7710.
