Bespoke Kitchens in Altrincham Dumped!

We had to dispose of a load of waste in Altrincham recently because someone had got the wrong kitchen installed whilst they were off sunning it on a boat in the Med for the summer. They thought they’d ordered a bespoke kitchens in Altrincham, but MFI turned up instead! So, we had to go and rip it out and put it all in a 16 yard RORO skip.

Fly-tippers sent to Guantanamo Bay?

When it comes to fly-tipping, we’ll be the first to champion skip hire and join the fight against illegal waste disposal. It ruins communities, is an eyesore and costs taxpayers money to clear up.
And it seems that many local authorities truly are using the full extent of the law to crack down on fly-tipping and catch those guilty of it. In a recent survey, 77 councils admitted using the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (Ripa) (or ‘terror laws’ to you and me) to crack down on domestic waste, littering or fly-tipping offences.
These laws were introduced in 2000 to help protect the UK from terrorist attacks and allow public bodies to place residents and businesses under surveillance, trace telephone and even email accounts.
The surveillance tactics used on fly-tippers include hiding secret cameras in lampposts, tin cans and even in neighbouring homes to catch people putting rubbish out on the wrong day.
So, is it going too far? Well a spokesman for the Local Government Association doesn’t seem to think so:
“These powers are essential in making sure that benefits cheats, fly-tippers, rogue traders and other serious criminals are caught and brought to justice.” he said.
It’s definitely a sticky issue, if the surveillance helps prevent fly-tipping then it’s a positive step but with the possible civil liberties argument, is it a step too far?

Salary: £15,000 – £20,000 (depending on experience) + Commission
The TopTriangle Account Management Team provide specialised client care for commercial clients within the construction, engineering, and maintenance. As a TopTriangle Account Manager you will develop account client relationships at a mid-senior management level, and will be regarded by the client as a trusted advisor.
